Happy with the purchase |
Purchased this item from another vendor about 9 months ago for my '06 Dodge Ram 2500 and it still works and looks great. Nice and bright. Installation is easy and the mounting tape has held up well.
As mentioned before make sure you clean the area well before you install the item and as mentioned earlier make sure when your tailgate goes down it does not crush the LEDs before you mount the bar. I also have a "crank down" hole for the spare tire in my bumper. I covered the top 1/3 of the hole during the install. About 2 months after the install I got a flat tire and had to use the spare. The tailgate bar was flexible enough to get the tool into the hole without damaging the light bar.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

love the light features. LED's are housed perfectly to prevent flooding. Love all the functions. Cant go wrong with this light. Great for reversing when in dark areas!!! |

I purchased one of these. Installed it and it worked good for a little while. Then a wire in the light bar shorted out and caught the thing on fire. I could have lost my truck or done serious damage to the electrical system. I have photos of this for anyone that wants to see it. Recon has ignored 4 emails from me including the ones with the photos attached. Very poor product and customer service. I like the idea of the light bar and I am looking for another one, but I will never get one that was made from nor buy one from Recon. |
